Denver Jewish Day School welcomed Nurit Rotbart (Class of 2006) to its counseling team for the 2024-2025 school year.
Rotbart serves as the upper division counselor, working alongside Denise Magoto and Natalie Mohan, who support students across both the lower and upper divisions.
Rotbart holds a Master of Social Work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in various counseling roles supporting children, adolescents, and families.
Before joining DJDS as a staff member, Rotbart worked at Denver Academy of Torah, where her husband Matt Rotbart (DJDS class of 2006), currently coaches basketball. While Rotbart's expertise is more in private practice, when she was offered a job at DJDS, she said, "It was a no-brainer."
"Working at DJDS is like coming home and hanging out with my family every day," Rotbart said. "I feel honored and truly blessed to be able to work at a school that has brought me so much happiness in my life."
Nurit’s connection to DJDS began in sixth grade when she enrolled at the school, then known as Theodor Herzl Jewish Day School, after moving from Copenhagen, Denmark, to the United States at age 11. It was at DJDS where she learned English, and today, she is fluent in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Hebrew.
She later attended middle school at Denver Academy of Torah before returning to DJDS (then known as RMHA) for high school, graduating in 2006.
It was in the ninth grade at DJDS when Nurit met Matt and started dating at the out-of-town shabbaton. Rotbart later lived in New York City for eight years with Matt. The two returned to Denver six years ago and currently have four children.
In her free time, Rotbart likes to go skiing, hang out with her kids, and go shopping. "I just hope I can continue to provide support and care for all the students, just as I felt when I was a student at DJDS," she said.
