For years (since roughly 2000), DJDS thrived on having a monthly edition of a newspaper, known as the Paw. The Paw was the source for all things DJDS: what’s new in the community, important announcements, and various student reports, essays, stories, and opinion pieces. When a new edition was published, QR codes would be passed around, emails would be sent out, and everyone was eager to see what was happening in the tiger community.
However, during COVID, the Paw slowly disappeared. With everything shifted to being remote, there was no way to build up the excitement for new editions, and therefore, it was hard to uphold the tradition of the newspaper that so many loved. Now, much of The Paw's past editions and history is lost.
Coming out of COVID, an amazing team of high school students, led by Cooper Coughlan (class of 2027), came together to bring the Paw back to the school. Now, ever since 2023, The Paw has thrived, and moved to a hybrid— half online editions and the other half on newspaper. With elevated editions, segments, and featured interviews, we are so excited to say that the Paw is back and better than ever. We can’t wait to share this with you, and we hope you enjoy it!
