SATIRE- After a two-year-long hiatus, Dr. Bobb Charmen, a former English teacher known for his in-class heart attacks and his famous happy birthday song, has decided to return to be the school's new PE Teacher.
Dr. Charmen originated in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and taught college there, where he met his wife, Mrs. Charmen while teaching her in college.
Dr. Charmen came to Denver, Colorado after seeing that the school needed a new English teacher. Once he arrived in Denver he stayed at a hotel and took the bus to and from school. He then left after a year of teaching there. Over the summer break, Dr. Charmen discovered that the school was in desperate need of a new PE Teacher so he decided to step up and take on for the team.
Now that he is the new PE Teacher, he throws his toilet paper at students during dodgeball (the good kind, not Scott). Since then, some students have decided to take revenge. On the night of January 30, students decided to “TP” his house and scatter the comically large stack of papers that covered his desk, all over his yard.
“I don’t know what a PE teacher could be doing with all that paper but it was just too much,” said Dr. Charmens student. Yet, instead of getting angry, Charmen was quite proud of his students.
“I love the courage that the students have put into this,” Charmen said. “I hope to bring that same level of courage to my teaching at DJDS. Seeing the kids courageously commit crimes at my house reminds me a lot of the school I used to teach at in Ecuador.”
Nonetheless, Dr. Charment is committed to this job and plans to put his all into this. “I once ran a marathon, well I guess that was my wife... but I watch a lot of marathons and I once read this book on the ethics of PE, so I’m prepared,” Charmen said. “I know my wife, back in Kansas would be really proud of my work.”
