Denver, Colorado, 5,280 ft above sea level- The 2-1 Cincinnati Bengals faced off against the defense powerhouse of the 1-2 Denver Broncos. The Bengals had a 12-play, 62-yard drive, which led to a 25-yard field goal.
The Broncos followed 3 drives later with a 9-play, 54-yard touchdown run in by Bo Nix. In the previous Bengal drive, the Broncos almost had a false start called on them, but instead, it was called on Ted Karras.
In an 8-play, 80-yard, 3:04 Marvin Mims snuck through defenders to get a rushing touchdown, their second of the night. The next time the Broncos were at the 2-yard line in the red zone, it resulted in an interception and a touchback. Although the Broncos quickly took back the ball, which led to a Courtland Sutton (#14) 20-yard passing TD.
After halftime, a kickoff to Marvin Mims Jr., Mims called a fair catch, but the Bengals grabbed the ball from his hands, resulting in a flag followed by a series of flags on the Broncos, which led to a punt. But it was not just directed at the Broncos in the next drive; the Bengals got pushed back to second and 27 to the first down.
The third quarter was scoreless, the teams entered the 4th, 21-3 Broncos. The Broncos then secured a touchdown in the hands of R. J. Harvey.
If I could hand out a game MVP, I would hand it to Courtland Sutton or Bo Nix, who helped this Broncos team storm to a win. The Broncos are now 2-2, tied for second in the conference behind the Los Angeles Chargers. This seems to be a team that is playoff-ready if they can find a strong offensive footing.
