This column is dedicated to answering DJDS's biggest questions. While we can't write articles on every single thing, especially things of this nature, we still hold it to ourselves to inform you the best we can. It is for that reason, we decided to start this column. The Paw picks out DJDS students' top three biggest inquiries of the month, and we answer them, right here and right now.
What do I hear every Thursday afternoon through the intercoms?
Every Thursday during afternoon snack, you’re listening to “DJDS Radio.” DJDS Radio is hosted by The Paw’s editor-in-chief, Cooper Coughlan, and a different co-host each week! They talk about different topics each week, including sports, DJDS news, U.S. politics, and more! Besides being played every Thursday, you can also listen to the episodes on YouTube and Spotify. You can find it by searching @DJDSRadio on YouTube or “DJDS Radio” on Spotify and clicking "podcasts!"
Why can’t we keep our backpacks in the hallway?
You may or may not have noticed that now, DJDS students are prohibited from storing their backpacks in the hallways. This is because of the Denver fire code, which prohibits obstructions such as backpacks from sitting in the hallways. Failure to comply with these fire and codes could result in not only fines but also closure of the school by the Denver Fire Department. There is now a bigger emphasis by the faculty to encourage students to store items and backpacks in their lockers.
What is the foosball table in the hallway, and how can I use it?
Whether in the commons or at the end of the hallway, you may have seen the new DJDS foosball table. This table was purchased with the help of Student Council and Upper Division Principal Dr. Jeremy Golubcow Teglasi. However, you may have taken notice to the fact that the table does not have any balls in it. This is because, in order to use it, you must see Ms. Knowles in her office in order to retrieve a ball. The balls and table should be available to use during lunch on weekdays.
